July 2014 Grants

We're happy to announce our July 2014 grants to the Oswego and Central New York community organizations. Our next deadline is September 12th. We look forward to seeing even more new projects for our community. 

The Research Foundation for SUNY - RSVP Osteo Bone Builders Program - $5,000. Will leverage the expertise of RSVP volunteers to build a professional model for the Osteo Bone Builders Program, aligned with the founder's vision that can be replicated within Oswego County and beyond.

Onondaga Historical Association - Traveling Exhibit: $10,500. Onondaga Historical Association is using funding to create a traveling exhibit for their current exhibit, "19th Century Photographer George N. Barnard: Ever a New Season," who took photographs of Oswego during the mid-19th century as well as battles during the Civil War. 

Fulton Public Library - Fulton Memoirs: $4,500. In their second year on this project, the goal is to build community pride by bringing diverse people together to share local history as well as preserve the history, technology and education as reflected by the writings of everyday people. The end product will be a Memoir Book.

CAC Foundation, Inc. - Child Advocacy Learning Collaborative: $9,000. This project aims to provide a learning collaborative for Forensic Interviewers in Oswego county with the intended outcome of improving their expertise. 

ARTSwego (Oswego College Foundation) - Outside Arts, Engaging our Community: $7,500. With work being done to SUNY Oswego's Waterman Theatre, ARTSwego will be engaging a campus and community audience by bringing events to locations such as public parks, workplaces, libraries or even street corners. 

Fulton Kiwanis recreation Association, Inc. - Kid Haven Clubhouse Renovation: $15,000 (matching grant) - The renovation will replace the foot, strengthen and repair the foundation and general structure.  The renovation will also include a much needed addition, modernize the snack bar and bathroom and make the building wheelchair accessbile. 

The Salvation Ary - Long Point Summer Camp: $5,000. Funding will help send some Oswego County children to Long Point Summer Camp and give them a unique and life enhancing summer experience.
