Kathleen Fenlon Appointed as New Board Chair & Casey Raymond Appointed Secretary

We are pleased to announce Kathleen Fenlon as the new Chair of the Richard S. Shineman Foundation. Barbara P. Shineman, Founder, recently decided to pass the "Chairman's baton" to board member Kathleen Fenlon.

"It has been a privilege to serve on the Shineman Board, and I am honored to take on the role of Board Chair. I look forward to working closely with Barbara Shineman, our seven other dedicated Board members, and Executive Director Karen Goetz and Senior Administrative Assistant Penny Halstead to continue our important work of enhancing the quality of life in Oswego County," said Fenlon.

"I am confident that Kathy will do a wonderful job as Chair of our Board," said Barbara Shineman, Founder of the Foundation. "Kathy has 40 years of nonprofit leadership experience, including 25 years as executive director of the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau. She is a well-known and highly respected leader in the community."

Current board member Casey Raymond has been named secretary of the board, replacing past board secretary Kathleen Fenlon. Casey has been a Shineman Foundation board member since 2014 and currently serves as Chair of the Governance Committee.

Casey is currently the Associate Professor of Chemistry at SUNY Oswego and recently agreed to serve as the Acting Honors Director for the next two years. He served as the Chair of the Sciences Planning Committee from 2006-2013 and helped coordinate the planning, design, and construction of the Richard S.
