The Shineman Foundation Donates Nearly $200,000 to Central New York Nonprofits

May 19, 2014 (Oswego, New York) – Eight Central New York nonprofit organizations have received funds from the Shineman Foundation during their second grant round of 2014, including Say Yes To Education, Oswego Little League, The H. Lee White Marine Museum, Friends of Fulton Parks, and Friends of Camp Hollis. These projects will benefit Oswego and the surrounding communities.

Part of this second round of grants will be used to match gifts made over the next two years to the endowment of the recently established Oswego County Community Foundation, a philanthropic initiative to attract and retain permanent charitable dollars for the benefit of Oswego County. This charitable endowment will serve as a collection of gifts from many donors who are committed to preserving and enhancing the quality of life in this region.

Other projects funded include batting cages for Oswego Little League that will be built in and around the Fort Ontario baseball fields. Also funded was Friends of Fulton Parks who plan to upgrade playground equipment Hulett Park this summer.
