This grant will fund a collaborative program with local school art teachers to encompass an eclectic art exhibition including tours of the art gallery on campus.
Connect community members of all ages with the excitement of live classical music through a three-part project, Creating Community through Music in and for Oswego area youth and families.
Funds will be used to hire a marketing intern for one year to guide the organization with the public relations and marketing of its programs and productions, increasing awareness of the organization and audience participation in productions to maintain the organization’s place in the cultural life of the greater Oswego community.
Oswego Music Hall: Replace outdated and worn out sound equipment to improve sound, produce more sophisticated shows, attract modern sound technicians and engineers, and increase professionalism, public perception and participation.
This is a capacity building grant for LaVeck Concerts. Now in its seventh year, LaVeck Concerts provides 5-6 concerts per year at the Pulaski Congregational Church, bringing the majesty of classical music to new audiences and making a small community proud of an absolutely world-class experience.
Funds will be used for the safe installation of theatre lighting equipment at their new location at the Fulton Cayuga Community College campus. The goal is to eliminate trip hazards on the floor and provide more direct lighting onstage.
In collaboration with SUNY Oswego and New York City-based The Acting Company, ARTSwego is developing a new project that uses theater to engage the community, advances collaboration among college and high school theater and education programs, and helps propel CNY college and high school students into their chosen field. Hamilton College, LeMoyne College, Hobart & William Smith Colleges, and a group of area high schools are a part of this consortium.
Big Concerts. Small Town: This project provides concerts for underserved portions of Oswego County. Funds from this grant will help ensure these concerts continue and increase quality, diversity, and profile of performing groups as well as apply best practices in marketing, fundraising, outreach, and better technology.
Outside Arts, Engaging our Community: With work being done to SUNY Oswego's Waterman Theatre, ARTSwego will be engaging a campus and community audience by bringing events to locations such as public parks, workplaces, libraries or even street corners.
Funds will be used in the planning and execution of two orchestra performances in Oswego, one at Breitbeck Park and the other at Oswego Middle School this summer and fall respectively.
