This grant provides funding to assist Wisdom Thinkers Network in expanding their character-based education curricula throughout Oswego County's school districts.
Funds will be used to conduct a campaign feasibility study for capital campaign groundwork preparation. They will evaluate the appeal, needs, goals, time and strategy for the project – transitioning from a mobile museum to a permanent location in downtown Oswego.
Funds will provide tuition support for Oswego County schools for the innovative Enterprise American program at WCNY in Syracuse, NY. This program is a true game-changer, as students not only learn vital 21st century learning skills but apply them in a real-world setting while exploring careers, which makes education relevant to them while challenging them to succeed.
This project will enable the church to make building modifications and offer their facility as a training center, partnering with other community agencies to provide public education in the area of Parenting Skills, Life Skills and other areas such as budgeting and money management.
Funds will be used for legal fees to incorporate and achieve 501c3 status to operate more efficiently and be more effective at fund raising. The Oswego Bookmobile is truly a collaborative effort with such partners as the Oswego Public Library, Oswego College Foundation, and the Oswego City School District.
Award to the Math & Science Advancement for Underrepresented Students project to ensure that underrepresented students receive assistance through Math & Science grants. The program will strategically advise two-year students to pursue Bachelor's degrees in STEM fields and strengthen the relationship of the program with SUNY Oswego.
Funds will support the Sequential Dramatics Program to help keep arts education in the school system.
Funds will be used to further build the parks capacity. The goal is to provide additional, positive, educational and engaging activities to children.
Funds will be used to hire a full time curator and focus on the first phase of a plan to take initial steps to turn the museum into a permanently certified, cutting edge Great Lakes marine museum.
Funds will be used to enhance the museum’s reach in Oswego County for students and educators alike to experience the Museum and its collection through onsite visits and outreach efforts in Oswego County.
